Zid review

We read the pricing page in Arabic and English, and from two machines in two countries. We opened no merchant account.

We read the pricing page in both its Arabic and English versions on Zid’s own site, on .

Zid answers the question the rest of this page dodges: no commission on sales, written that plainly in the questions on its own page. Its merchant dashboard and help centre are in Arabic, and the local carriers are named.

The flaw is that the figure shown on its pricing page differs with the country you browse from, and the page never says so. There is no renewal price, and no support hours except on the top tier.

How this review was built

We did not open a merchant account on Zid and paid nothing. Speed and uptime are out of the score for that reason. The score rests on four criteria readable on the company’s own pages: price and billing, Arabic and right-to-left support, published features, and support availability.

We read the pricing page two ways: the copy the server sends, and the page as a browser renders it on a machine in Cairo. The price chapter comes from the difference between them.

There is no buyer-reports chapter here. We opened no reports this round.

Buying and price

8.5

Basis: the company’s own pages · weight 25%

The advertised price is {entry} a month on a yearly subscription, with the monthly figure printed beside it.

Here is what we found and did not expect: We read the same pricing page two ways on the same day: the server-rendered copy carries riyals, and the page rendered from Cairo carries Egyptian pounds at a figure that is not a conversion of the riyal, and the page never says its price differs by country A Saudi reader and an Egyptian reader are looking at two products at two prices at the same address, with no note on the page to say so.

There is no renewal price on the page. The free domain sits in the two tiers above the entry plan; the entry plan gives you connection of a domain you already own rather than a new one.

What plainly counts in its favour: Zid states in the questions on its pricing page that there is no commission at all on sales across its paid packages, and names payment-processing fees as a separate thing without publishing their percentage That is a real difference on every order against anyone taking a percentage of each sale.

Arabic and right-to-left

8.5

Basis: the company’s own pages · weight 20%

Zid is Arabic by construction rather than by translation: the merchant dashboard sits on an Arabic domain, and the help centre is served in Arabic with the page running right to left.

The company also offers an English interface for anyone who wants one, and its whole site has a full English twin. So anyone working with a non-Arabic team has a shared language, which not every Arabic platform provides.

Zid publishes no list of its dashboard languages, and no explicit sentence about right-to-left support. The capability is real and there is no page to cite for it — a gap in the documentation rather than in the product.

We found no themes described as Arabic in its theme store, only a count of themes with no language or direction attached.

Published features

7.5

Basis: the company’s own pages · weight 35%

What you get: {feats} of the items we count, with a wide app store, order analytics, and connecting a domain you own from the first paid plan.

The free tier is free forever in the page’s own words, and gives products, orders and customers with no published cap alongside basic payment methods. But it has no domain, no advanced payment methods and no chat support.

Customising the interface with code appears in its comparison table, and we could not read which plans include it because the table is built after the page loads.

Support availability

1.0

Basis: the company’s own pages · weight 20%

The published channel is chat from the first paid plan. Support hours are published for the top tier alone, and the page states no hours for the plans below it.

We found no published refund window, and did not open the terms of service this round.

The help centre is entirely in Arabic, so a buyer reads in their own language rather than through machine translation.

Speed and uptime: we did not measure them

We did not measure the speed or uptime of a Zid store, and opened no account.

We did not read the payment-processing percentage because the company names it and never publishes its figure. We opened no buyer reports and did not read the terms of service. What we did not check is written here.

Both picks are computed from the scores rather than written by hand: the first is the one directly above it in the ranking, the second the one that beats it by the widest margin on the criterion it loses on.

Bottom line

For anyone selling in Saudi Arabia who counts the commission on every order, Zid gives the answer they want in writing: no commission, an Arabic dashboard, and local carriers named.

For anyone comparing the price from outside Saudi Arabia, read it from inside before deciding, because the figure you saw may not be the figure you pay.

Questions

Does Zid take a commission on sales?

Its own page says there is no commission on sales across its paid packages. Payment-processing fees it names without publishing a percentage.

Is the price shown what I will pay?

It depends where you browse from. We read the same page from two machines and found two currencies and two different figures, and the page does not mention it.

Do I get a free domain on the entry plan?

No. The free domain sits in the two tiers above it; the entry plan lets you connect a domain you own.
